ODB-2 is a thermal paper colorant primarily used in the papermaking industry for the production of thermal paper. It is utilized in the later stages of the coating process. The chemical name for ODB-2 is 2-Anilino-3-methyl-6-(dibutylamino)fluoran, also known by aliases such as Thermal Dye ODB-2 and Black Pigment-2. This chemical boasts advantages such as high color density, high sensitivity, and good stability, making it one of the most widely used and highest produced  class thermal and pressure-sensitive black dyes in the world.
