1.Product feature
WM series horizontal closed sand mill, compared with ball mill, roller mill, colloid mill and other dispersing equipment, sand mill has the advantages of high production efficiency, uniform particle size distribution, strong continuity of production, low cost and so on. And this series of sand mill can be customized explosion-proof type.
Widely used in coating, dye, ink, medicine, magnetic recording materials, ferrite, photographic film, strontium carbonate and other industrial sectors of efficient grinding and dispersion.
According to the effective volume of the cylinder 1.5-250l, it can be divided into 10 specifications including 1.5l, 5L, 15L, 20L, 30L, 50L, 60L, 100L, 150L and 250L.Motor power: 2.2 ~ 75KW.
WM series grinders are designed to type A (front-end discharge) and type B (back-end discharge)

2.The overall structure
WM series sand grinder consists of mechanical seal device, disperse shaft subassembly, grinding cylinder body, pressure controller (optional) and temperature meter, main motor, transmission system, feed pump, body and electrical system.
The working principle
Pump transfers the mixed materials of solid/liquid after pre wetting process to the cylinder body, and the materials are stirred by high-speed rotating dispersion plate together with grinding media in cylinder body, making strong shear of the material of solid particles between the grinding media, to achieve the purpose of grinding fine particles and dispersing agglomeration paticles. After grinding, material discharge through dynamic separator or static separator
Main features and how they work
Mechanical seal and lubrication
Mechanical seal: Single-end mechanical seal can be selected according to requirements, as shown in Figure 1; double-end cartridge mechanical seal can also be used
Cooling and lubrication: pump the lubricating oil into the mechanical seal device through the electric pump or gear pump, the flow rate ≥60L/h. If it is a water-cooled mechanical seal, it can be directly cooled with clean water, the flow rate ≥60L/h, and the working pressure of the coolant in the cooling and lubrication window is less than 0.02 MPa.
Lubricating oil can be used: transformer oil, N5 precision machine tool oil or high speed engine oil.
Precautions:
The drop of oil level can be observed through the oil level indicator. Within one oil change period(6-12 months), the cumulative loss ≤2mL belongs to the normal range. If it is greater than 2mL, the sealing ring should be repaired and ground (pay attention to exclude the leakage amount of framework oil seal).
Can judge whether the mechanical seal is in good condition from the discoloration of the oil.
Lubricating fluid should be added in time after the liquid drops to avoid dry friction. If there is no circulation of the lubricating fluid, it should be stopped immediately for maintenance. Lubricating fluid should be replaced after each maintenance.
Dispersing shaft assembly
Specially designed dispersing discs are mounted on the dispersing shaft. They are fastened to the dispersing shaft by bushings, glands, spring washers and hexagon socket screws. When dispersing discs are assembled on the dispersing shaft, they should be rotated as shown in Figure 3. And paired assembly to ensure continuous

Dispersion disc structure
The size of each part, the circumferential linear velocity, and the surface quality have a direct influence on the polishing dispersion efficiency. Commonly used dispersing discs are as follows
Grinding cylinder
The inner sleeve of WM series sand mill is made of special steel, which has expanded the scope of use of this product due to its good wear resistance and corrosion resistance.
The inner sleeve of WM series sand mill adopts two-stage spiral cooling device, and the cooling effect is better than that of DC, which is about 5 °C lower. The cylinder of the sander is a changeable design. If the cylinder is worn out, it can be used as long as the inner sleeve is replaced.
Explosion-proof pressure controller and thermometer
The WM series sand mill is equipped with an explosion-proof pressure controller at the inlet, and the pressure control range can be adjusted. The user can adjust the pressure to the appropriate position (~0.1MPa) as needed. A temperature gauge was installed at the discharge port to observe the discharge temperature.
The pressure transmission of the explosion-proof pressure controller adopts hydraulic type: one side of the bellows and the pressure controller (with display meter) are filled with oil, and when the diaphragm moves, the oil is pressed to deform the pressure gauge spring tube to indicate the pressure. According to the transmission principle, It can be seen that the pressure at both ends of the diaphragm is equal, so the pressure on the pressure gauge is also the pressure inside the cylinder.
Main motor power matching
Sand mill is a general-purpose grinding and dispersing equipment with a wide range of applications. Due to the different material properties of different products, the process conditions vary greatly, and the power required for the same volume of sand mill is different. The machine is equipped with YB2 series explosion-proof motor according to Table 3.2, explosion-proof class Exd II BT4. Y series ordinary motors can also be equipped according to user requirements.
Feed pump
This machine uses a pneumatic double diaphragm fluid transfer pump, please refer to the product manual.

body
The fuselage is a steel welding body that fixes and supports the main machine, the feeding pump, the cylinder body and the electric box. It is stable and reliable, and has a compact structure. The bottom of the fuselage is equipped with four adjustable shock pads to ensure the level of the whole machine.

4. installation and commissioning
The installation place
The foundation must be firm, must not change for a long time, for the installation position, should take into account the process route, electrical wiring, drainage pipe, operation and maintenance, maintenance and ventilation conditions.
Electrical wiring
When it is necessary to run the motor to check the electrical wiring and the direction of rotation of the motor, the connecting belt between the main motor and the main shaft should be disassembled. When it is necessary to check the state of the installed cylinder, the medium and materials must be put into the machine before starting. Otherwise, the idle rotation of the dispersing plate may cause the dispersing plate to break or the dispersing shaft to bend.
The main motor must run as the same direction as the marked direction.
Cooling water system
The sand mill cylinder cooling jacket adopts spiral design structure, so that the heat generated in production is easy to eliminate, the consumption of water is relevant to water temperature, product hardness, product fineness requirements, material viscosity, grinding medium filling amount, as well as the speed of the dispersion plate. The cooling water should maintain the pressure of 0.1 ~ 0.2Mpa. If the ground material is particularly sensitive to temperature, a refrigeration device can also be installed at the inlet end.
Loading of grinding medium
Unload the sand filling hole plug in the middle of the cylinder body, load the hopper, and load the prepared medium after weighing from the hole. At this time, most of the medium will flow into the cylinder body, and for the left, can slightly started the main motor. Because the medium is dry state, can not set the speed to reach full speed, to prevent the medium breaking. Note that the amount of medium should reach about 85% of the volume of the cylinder, excessive load would lead overload, insufficient amount would lead low efficiency.
Release and cleaning of grinding medium
When the grinding medium needs to be replaced or the grinding medium needs to be released for other reasons, remove the six M6 screws in front of the end cover and pull the end cover out to release the medium. If the material plug is removed, the material can be discharged. During the operation, should tighten the sand discharge plug; After a batch of materials are ground, you can put an appropriate amount of solvent into the cylinder body for circulation. At the same time, slightly start the disperse shaft for intermittent rotation, and finally pump the solvent for cleaning. After cleaning, part of the solvent should be kept in the cylinder body. If a certain solvent is not maintained in the cylinder body, the medium will condense in the cylinder body, resulting in difficulties in starting the next time.
Cleaning
Before the first use of the sand mill, must use solvent to clean the sand mill cylinder pipe and other parts. The method is: put an appropriate amount of solvent into the cylinder for circulation, slightly start the main motor to make the dispersion plate components for intermittent rotation, and finally open the sand plug, until all the cleaning solution is drained clean, put the new washing liquid to clean again.
5.Safety protection and accident treatment
The machine adopts an electric-contact pressure gauge to display and control the working pressure inside the cylinder in the process of operation, and an electric-contact thermometer to display the discharge temperature of the product. During the machine running, should pay attention to observe at any time.
When the pump is stuck, air leakage or insufficient pressure and other abnormalities occur, the data displayed on the pressure gauge can be accurately indicated; When the pressure or temperature exceeds the set value, the fault indicator on the control panel would light and it will shuts down the feed pump and main engine.
